                 Attaching the name DAISY to a weekend for women in divorce transition may seem strange. But here are little known facts about this prolific and lovely little flower!

 

                 The word DAISY means “day’s eye” because they open at dawn and symbolize new beginnings. That alone would be reason enough to utilize this flower as the symbol for women taking their lives and their futures into their own hands and forging a new beginning! But there’s more! There are over 80 varieties of daisies. They come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. So do we. Once planted, Daisies spread quickly...ever-expanding...like our lives. These hardy, low maintenance perennials return year after year. Their leaves are edible and the plant itself is an herb with healing properties. Women have traditionally been the nurturers and healers on the planet.

 

                 Women who have attended Daisy Camp proudly refer to themselves as “Daisies”  as if they were a part of a special sorority, and so they are!
